Central Arab Student Alliance (CASA) is an organization developed to represent the Arab student body at The Ohio State University. Through the democratic processes engraved in the structure of the CASA, the CASA hopes to address the issues and concerns arising from the student body through a systematic channel of communication between the Arab students themselves and the broader Ohio State community, including the university administration, graduate and undergraduate student body, and student government. This channel of communication is extended to all other student organizations on the OSU campus and the greater Columbus community.
As a representative of the Arab student body, CASA will lead, advise, and guide the Arab student body - working as a mediator to channel their issues and concerns to the appropriate administration and university services. CASA will also provide an awareness of the necessary information concerning the education, laws and policies of OSU that are particularly relevant towards Arab students on campus. CASA is committed to building a community of support for Arab students in dealing with social issues that will or may arise within and outside of the local OSU community.
CASA will undertake, initiate, plan, and arrange a variety of activities fostering to the OSU and greater Columbus community, with a goal towards facilitating Arab student growth within the OSU community, in line with the university's diversity policy. Committed to the promotion of Arabic heritage and culture, CASA seeks to increase the general public awareness of Arabic culture and Arab ethnicity. Furthermore, CASA encourages a cooperative effort and strong work ethic among members in hopes of providing valuable experiences for both members of CASA, OSU and the greater Columbus community.
